Dearest friends and comrades. Shalom from Yerushalayim. I hope that this message finds everyone well, happy and ready to "rebuild after the destruction".
These 3 weeks (from the 17th of Tammuz until Tisha B'Av) began the 10 week period before Rosh Hashanah. They are divided into 2 periods - the 3 weeks of suffering and the 7 weeks of consolation. In Kabbalistic terms they refer to the divisions of the upper 3 Sefiroth - Chockmah, Binah and Da'at - and the lower 7 Sefiroth - from Chesed down to Malkhut
(see Hidden Treasures: http://www.breslov.org/bookstore/explorations/hidden-treasures/prod_2.html for more on the Sefiroth).
(see Hidden Treasures: http://www.breslov.org/bookstore/explorations/hidden-treasures/prod_2.html for more on the Sefiroth).
This comes as a hint that when it comes to our Da'at- Wisdom/Knowledge, we admit that it is burnt out, impure, tainted, etc.. But by mourning over this loss, we are able to pick ourselves up and start again with positive actions, reflected in the 7 following weeks which correspond to the Sefiroth of "action". All this serves as a preparation for receiving the New Year properly and on the right footing, and so that we can at least try to end the year with a good note.

For those familiar with the teachings and guidelines of Rebbe Nachman, his teachings/advice and his following, there is major, major emphasis put on spending the Rosh Hashanah holiday by his gravesite in Uman, the Ukraine.
Rebbe Nachman's gravesite in Uman, the Ukraine |
In a nutshell and very briefly, Rosh Hashanah is the Day of Judgement where one needs the best defense lawyer possible to pass this serious day with a positive outcome, since it is a day that determines the rest of the year (and one's life!). Thus, the concept of travelling to be with Tzaddikim (our best defense lawyers in the Heavenly Court) for the Rosh Hashanah holiday.
Another very special point about Rebbe Nachman's grave is his promise and oath to do everything in his power to pull a person out of the lowest abyss of hell. This promise is directed to those who visit his gravesite, give there a coin to charity towards the merit of Rebbe Nachman's soul, then recite the Ten Psalms known as the Tikkun Haklali (The General Remedy), and take upon themselves not to resort to folly again. (see: http://www.breslov.org/bookstore/inspirational/rebbe-nachman-39-s-tikkun-softcover/prod_39.html),
Thus, the Breslover Chassidim, followers of Rebbe Nachman and his teachings, combine the 2 by reciting the Tikkun Haklali on the eve of Rosh Hashanah by his gravesite in Uman. Because of it's importance there is a customary united recitation of the Tikkun Haklali at exactly 12 noon in Uman where everyone together recites the Tikkun Haklali on behalf of the entire world.
For a better picture of these matters, please see the following video presentation:

Rabbi Mordekhai Halberstam, the rabbinical judge of the village Sokolov, Poland, and a leading Breslover chassid, issued a ruling that if not possible to make it oneself to Uman, one can at least use someone as a "Shaliach" (messenger) to recite the Tikkun Haklali on their behalf (see Against All Odds, pages 126-7).
In line with this, I am presenting a special opportunity for those who can't and won't be making it to Uman for this coming Rosh HaShanah:
I am planning with the help of Hashem, to go to Uman along with my 2 sons. The younger one - Shimon Elazar Abba - will be turning 7 after Rosh Hashanah. Rebbe Nachman once said: "I have complete faith that every child who comes to me before reaching the age of 7 will remain free of sin (i.e. sexual sins) until his wedding day" (see Tzaddik #517).
The costs for all 3 of us from Israel will be approximately 3000$ US. Here is the breakdown:
- plane ticket: 775$
- holiday and shabbat meals: 25$
- sleeping accommodations: 175$
I am eagerly willing to recite the Tikkun Haklali at the noon-time united recitation specifically on behalf of then names of people who can help and chip in to this important and special opportunity:
- 50$ per name
- 100$ for every 3 names
(I am not trying to bargain and be a businessman with such a holy and precious opportunity, but due to the expensive costs I am compelled to do things this way)

With many blessings and thanks to Hashem for all the wonders and miracles that He has bestowed upon us until now, may we see very, very soon with our own eyes the coming of Mashiach, the rebuilding of our Holy Temple, and the in-gathering of the exiles speedily in our days, Amen.
Sincerely and with blessings for a wonderful and awesome New Year
